JMC Career Programming

In partnership with the wider MSU Career Services Network, JMC hosts a range of in-person and virtual career programs aimed at helping students explore the various career paths available to them upon graduation, prepare for opportunities (both during and after college), and connect with alumni mentors and professionals in fields of interest.

Signature JMC Programs

Career Chats
JMC regularly partners with alumni, employers, and special guests to connect students with career insights and opportunities. Our Career Chats are a chance for students to meet one-on-one and in small group settings for engaging conversations.

Fresh and Profesh, Sophomore Refresh Seminars
Designed for first-year students and sophomores, these tiered workshops offer students an overview of the diverse career paths Madisonians pursue; guidance on internship and career preparation; and an introduction to the range of resources and services offered through the college’s Career Services and Field Experience Offices.

JMC’s Career Exposure Program
Organized as both short (1-3 day) and long (5-7 day) endeavors, JMC’s Career Exposure Programs are designed for Madison students interested in exploring various professions, networking with alumni mentors and employers, touring workplaces, and discovering new cities. Thanks to regular engagement and support from alumni and employer hosts, we’ve been able to offer our Career Exposure Program in cities such as:

  • Ann Arbor
  • Detroit
  • New York City
  • Los Angeles
  • San Francisco
  • Washington, DC

We love partnering with alumni mentors, employers, and special guests to offer engaging career programming to the Madison community! Please feel free to email if you’d like to engage with us: JM.Career@msu.edu.
