In partnership with the wider MSU Career Services Network, JMC hosts a range of in-person and virtual career programs aimed at helping students explore the various career paths available to them upon graduation, prepare for opportunities (both during and after college), and connect with alumni mentors and professionals in fields of interest.
Signature JMC Programs
Career Chats
JMC regularly partners with alumni, employers, and special guests to connect students with career insights and opportunities. Our Career Chats are a chance for students to meet one-on-one and in small group settings for engaging conversations.
JMC Skills Seminar Series
This three-part workshop series enhances our students' career readiness, created in response to feedback from alumni and employers about the skills most valued in today's job market. Seminars cover how to develop cover letters and resumes, cultivate meaningful professional relations and practice how to network with Madison alumni.
JMC’s Career Exposure Program
Organized as both short (1-3 day) and long (5-7 day) endeavors, JMC’s Career Exposure Programs are designed for Madison students interested in exploring various professions, networking with alumni mentors and employers, touring workplaces, and discovering new cities. Thanks to regular engagement and support from alumni and employer hosts, we’ve been able to offer our Career Exposure Program in cities such as:
- Ann Arbor
- Detroit
- New York City
- Los Angeles
- San Francisco
- Washington, DC
We love partnering with alumni mentors, employers, and special guests to offer engaging career programming to the Madison community! Please feel free to email if you’d like to engage with us: JM.Career@msu.edu.
