Admitted Student Events

Meet Madison Days is now open! These events are an opportunity for admitted students and their families to get an in-depth look at James Madison College. 

JMC's 2025 events will be held on:

• Monday, Feb. 17, 2 to 4 p.m.
• Friday, March 7, 2 to 4 p.m.
• Friday, March 21, 2 to 4 p.m.
• Friday, April 4, 2 to 4 p.m. (The April 4 event, held the day before MSU's Admitted Student Day, will be a more intimate, informal opportunity to meet with JMC faculty, staff and students.)
• Friday, April 11, 2 to 4 p.m.

Admitted students can register to attend Meet Madison Days via MSU's Office of Admissions portal. If you have questions or were admitted to another major at MSU and are interested in switching to JMC, contact Jahshua Smith at jmcadmin@msu.edu.

• Meet Madison Days

  Admitted students and families are invited to Meet Madison Days to get an in-depth look at James Madison College. These events are a chance to dive into the details that make JMC unique. During Meet Madison Days, you’ll:

  • Hear directly from the JMC community. Faculty members, academic advisors, diversity and inclusion specialists, and internship and career coordinators will be available to help you learn more about your future journey at the college.
  • Participate in a mini-class led by a JMC professor. This session will give you a taste of what to expect as a JMC student and allow you to explore the college's four majors firsthand.
  • Tour Case Hall. JMC is a residential college and Case Hall is the center of our living-learning community. Our short tour will offer a closer look at JMC’s classrooms, study spaces and faculty offices.

  Most importantly, you'll connect with current students who can share their experiences. Hearing their perspectives will give you a window into what life is actually like as a Madisonian.

• MSU Admitted Student Day

  MSU's Admitted Student Day will be held on April 5, 2025. JMC will be participating in this campus-wide event with exciting and informative programming, allowing admitted students to explore their interests and get familiar with resources and opportunities at JMC. 

  If you're planning to attend Admitted Student Day on April 5, consider attending JMC's Meet Madison Day on April 4 (registration information available via MSU's Office of Admissions portal).

JMC's 2025 Junior Visit Days will be held on March 7, March 21 and April 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Club Spartan.

Register to attend JMC's Junior Visit Days via MSU's Office of Admissions.

Junior Visit Days are designed specifically for high school juniors and will help you explore how JMC can support your academic goals and interests. You’ll hear from Madison faculty and staff and take a tour of the academic areas of Case Hall (this tour will not include residence rooms). Most importantly, you'll connect with current students who will share their experiences and give you insight into what life is like as a Madisonian.

Events run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Club Spartan on the third floor of Case Hall. Join us for an optional lunch in the South Pointe at Case dining hall afterwards.

• Residential Colleges Event in Grand Rapids

  Interested in attending Michigan State? Interested in learning more about residential communities? 
  
  Join Michigan State University at the To College Through College (T2C) Studio in downtown Grand Rapids on March 20 at 6 p.m.! We're hosting an informational session about our residential communities so you and your family can learn more about our programs and the opportunities available to students. Representatives from James Madison College, Lyman Briggs College, the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities and the Office of Admissions will be there to answer your questions.

• Discover JMC: Virtual Visit Days

  Unable to make it to campus, but interested in learning more about James Madison College at Michigan State University? We've got you covered.

  Discover JMC: Virtual Visit Days are an option for prospective students who would like to learn more about MSU's residential college for public affairs and international relations. Virtual breakout sessions provide opportunities to meet with advisers, professors, financial aid officers and more!

• Fall Visit Days

  Fall Visit Days are for high school seniors who are interested in applying to MSU and want more information on James Madison College. Designed to provide a better understanding of the program, prospective students can build connections with JMC's academic advisors, DEI specialists, internship coordinator, career consultant, and professors. Students also get to experience a JMC discussion led by one of our professors!

• Green and White Days

   If you're considering applying to MSU, Green and White Days (held annually in the summer) is the program for you! Here you’ll have the flexibility to customize your schedule and explore campus at your own pace. You can also connect with campus resources, find out more about Spartan life and see spots on campus that aren’t visited during regular tours!

• Regional Junior Information Sessions

  JMC hits the road for this series of events in the late spring! With locations being planned in West Michigan and Southeast Michigan, JMC's DEI Specialist will share information about the college with prospective students and their families. 

• MSU General Visits
  JMC-specific visits do not include a tour of the greater MSU campus or of residence hall rooms. To learn more about opportunities at Michigan State University, schedule a campus visit!
