The Writing Center at James Madison College is located North Case, Room 341. The Writing Center is staffed by MSU students who are eager to support their peers with writing and reading strategies.
Writing consultants are available to offer Madison students one-on-one peer assistance with a variety of writing tasks, from academic papers to personal statements and resumes. Consultants are junior and senior MSU students who understand the expectations of JMC professors and are able to help their peers at any stage of the writing process, including critical reading, brainstorming, organizing, writing, revising and editing. They are also available to help students individually on reading strategies for understanding and engaging with texts they will encounter in MC 111, MC 201, MC 202 and other courses.
Fall 2025 Semester Hours: Beginning Sept. 15, the Writing Center at JMC will be open Monday-Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.
Students can schedule an appointment via the MSU Writing Center online or drop in Room 341 Case Hall on Monday-Thursday nights.
