JMC student Lekhana Gogineni (SRP '25) has accomplished something many students dream of — a perfect college GPA. Gogineni is one of 271 graduating seniors who will leave MSU with a 4.0 GPA.

During its April 11 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented these graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees’ Award, recognizing their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive.
In addition to majoring in Social Relations and Policy, Gogineni has minors in Political Economy and Philosophy and Law. During her time at James Madison College, she has been a member of James Madison College Women of Color (JMCWOC), Empowering Women in Law and Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Sorority. Gogineni also currently works as a research mentor with YOU'RE(in)CHARJ, a a community-based participatory action research project focused on climate, health and racial justice.
Students who received the board's recognition will also be acknowledged during the spring commencement ceremonies and will receive a cord highlighting their accomplishments.
James Madison College's commencement ceremony will be held on May 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the Wharton Center. Lisa Cook, a professor of international relations in JMC who is currently serving on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, will be the college's commencement speaker.
