During the Fall and Spring Semesters, JMC’s Academic Advising Team offers in-person express appointments from Monday to Thursday, 1:30 to 4 p.m. in 328 South Case Hall. Assistant Dean Jeff Judge is also available in the Express Advising Center on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. On Fridays, virtual express appointments are available.
Students with questions about internships and education abroad programs can meet with Field Experience Coordinator Lauren Michalak for drop-in advising on Wednesdays from 1 :30 to 4 p.m. in 329 South Case Hall.

Need help working through an assignment, essay or presentation? The Writing Center at JMC is available in 341 North Case Hall. Writing Center hours for the Fall 2026 semester will be shared in September.
A representative from CAPS Connect, Victor Léon, is available weekly for drop-in counseling in Case Hall. Victor is available for free, confidential drop-in counseling on Monday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m. in S359 Case Hall. Visit MSU CAPS Connect for more information.
A basic needs pantry for students is now open in Room 329 South Case. The self-serve pantry includes non-perishable food, hygiene and household cleaning items, and cold weather clothing, and is available during weekday business hours. The college also has a limited number of Meijer and Kroger gift cards for students experiencing food insecurity. Gift cards can be requested through Assistant Dean Brian Johnson (john3582@msu.edu).
During the Fall and Spring Semesters, JMC's Career Peer is available to provide one-on-one support for resumes, cover letters, personal statements, interview strategies and the internship search process.
