May 3, 2023 - Caitlin Finerty, SRP '23
Following the end of the 2022-23 academic year, JMC students and Career Services staff will travel to Washington D.C. from May 7-13 for the 2023 Career Exposure trip. The trip will include a robust itinerary of just under 20 workplaces in the nation’s capital and surrounding areas. Students can expect to meet alumni working in a host of different fields including think tanks, media outlets and public relations firms.
Students of all years and majors will have an in-person experience at some of the nation’s top workplaces and get to sit in on the conversations that happen in the capital. This includes meetings with both PR and law firms, and a tour of Politico offices.
This is all made possible because of the alumni that are opening their doors for 25 students, one of the largest delegations James Madison College has ever had on a Career Exposure trip chosen from a pool of a record number of applicants. The D.C. trip is also supported by the continuous financial contributions of the JMC Dean’s Office and Dean Thies’ enthusiasm for student success opportunities such as the Career Exposure Program.
In addition to workplace site visits, students will attend a student-alumni networking event on May 10.
If you are an alumnus of JMC, work in Washington D.C. or the surrounding area and would like to register to for this event, register on Eventbrite and contact Karissa Chabot-Purchase kcp@msu.edu with any questions.
