Muslim Journeys Series: Younus Mirza (Shenandoah University) presents The Islamic Mary: Maryam Through The Centuries

Please join us for a special Muslim Journeys author-led book discussion event with Dr. Younus Y Mirza. Dr. Mirza will give a short lecture about his new book, which will be followed by facilitated small group discussions. All are welcome!

The Islamic Mary explores the figure of Mary/Maryam shared between Christians and Muslims. Maryam is revered throughout the Islamic tradition, beginning already in the scripture of the Qur’an. This book examines the varied appearances of Maryam in different Islamic literary, theological, pious, and interfaith contexts.

DR. YOUNUS Y. MIRZA is the Founding Director of the Barzinji Institute for Global Virtual Learning at Shenandoah University.
