MSU Admitted Student Day will be hosted on April 11, 2026. During the campus-wide open house, James Madison College will host a series of events for admitted students. Register via MSU Office of Admissions and view JMC's full lineup below.
All JMC events will be hosted on the third floor of Case Hall (842 Chestnut Road, East Lansing).

The Path to Law School: How to Prepare, Stand Out & Succeed

Thinking about law school but not sure where to start? Join James Madison College and MSU's College of Law for an inside look at what law schools are looking for, how to build a strong application, and what you can do now to prepare for a legal career.
Careers in Law, Government, Public Affairs & Social Impact
1:30 to 2 p.m.
This alumni panel will highlight diverse career pathways in law, government and public impact fields. Alumni will share their personal journeys, day-to-day work experiences, and insights on navigating careers that shape policy, advocacy and community change.
Navigating Campus Life: Voice, Values & Belonging
2 to 2:30 p.m.
Current students share their perspective on campus culture, involvement opportunities, and creating a sense of belonging. Panelists will discuss how students engage in conversations around equity and social justice, support one another, and make the most of campus resources. This session is open to all admitted students looking to learn more about student life and community engagement.
Meet & Greet in the JMC Library & Student Tours
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Come explore the residential college setting! Members of the JMC community will show you some of the important places where you'll spend time in your new academic home. They will also answer any questions you have about JMC, MSU's college for public policy and international affairs. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you'll have the opportunity to interact with current students, academic advisors, and internship and career coordinators. Then, from 2 to 4 p.m., we encourage you to meet representatives from our student organizations in the South Neighborhood Quad!
Advising & Course Requirements
12:30 to 3 p.m.
Learn what to expect from New Student Orientation (NSO) advising and academic requirements, as you are led through the process by Lindsay Snyder, JMC's assistant director for undergraduate affairs.
Path to Law School 1:1 Advising

Get personalized guidance on the law school application process, and prepare a strong candidacy. Meet with Karissa Chabot-Purchase, our Assistant Director with MSU’s Career Services Network, and Taylor Toth, a current student who has gone through the law school application journey
Early Start Meet and Greet
12:30 to 3 p.m.
Curious about the Early Start Program and what the experience is really like? Stop by this informal meet and greet and connect with Early Start students who have participated in the program and are excited to share their experiences. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about transitioning to JMC and MSU, building community, adjusting to campus life, and making the most of the resources Early Start offers.
