Hear about the rich history of JMC, stories of JMC profs and accomplished alumni, and the changing student experience through the years.

Professor Emeritus Ron Dorr is frequently described as one of the most memorable and inspiring professors at MSU. As one of the founding faculty for the freshman writing program at JMC, Professor Dorr was integral to developing students' critical thinking and writing abilities. His classes were challenging. GPA's frequently took a dive. Alumni bristle when recounting the workload and Professor Dorr's expectations. Then, they smile when reflecting on what they gained from the experience, his patience, and passion for teaching. After 30 years as a full time faculty member, Professor Dorr retired in 2003. He went on to teach part time for 17 years. Professor Dorr is an MSU treasure with a love of storytelling. This event will treat participants to engaging stories about James Madison College.
