Biography
Professor Garnett's interests include the former Soviet Union, especially Russian foreign and security policy, Ukraine and comparative political and security issues for the post-Communist world. He was most recently a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he directed projects on security and national identity in the former USSR and Russian-Chinese relations. While at Carnegie, he wrote a wide range of articles on the post-Communist world and a book on Ukraine.
