Overview

Lansing-area students interested in future careers in international relations and public affairs are invited to apply to participate in the Pre-Residential Immersive Madison Experience (PRIME) Leadership Program.

Led by JMC's Office of Outreach & Recruitment, PRIME allows Ingham County high school students to learn more about the academic and professional opportunities that exist at James Madison College. The program encourages participants to consider future careers in public policy, law, political science, government and international affairs.

Leadership Academy

The PRIME Leadership Academy is an alternative spring break program hosted at JMC.

During the week-long Leadership Academy, students will:

  • Attend mock JMC classes with Madison faculty members;
  • Learn more about JMC’s four majors;
  • Tour MSU campus;
  • Connect with faculty, staff, and students;
  • Participate in a variety of educational activities;
  • Learn more about scholarship opportunities to attend MSU and JMC.

The 4th annual Leadership Academy will run during Ingham County's Spring Break (March 30-April 3, 2026). High school students interested in attending the 2026 Leadership Academy can apply via Google Forms.
