Teacher Information

The James Madison College Academy for Civic Education (JMC-ACE) is seeking participants for its Summer 2026 programming for Michigan educators.

Participants will learn how to help students engage with the Constitution, Federalist Papers, landmark Supreme Court decisions and pivotal speeches that defined American democracy. 

Program Details

  • When: June 22-26, 2026
  • Location: Hosted in Grand Rapids (exact location TBA)
  • Participants: 25 Michigan middle and high school educators
  • Cost: Completely free. Participants receive $1,000 stipend and MDE professional development credits. A $50 deposit is required to register, which will be returned to participants upon completion of the program.
  • Accommodation: Hotel accommodation and all meals provided
  • Format: Small seminars with JMC faculty

Eligibility

Middle and high school educators who teach in Michigan are eligible to participate.

Registration

Michigan educators interested in participating can share their information via Google Forms. A $50 deposit is required to secure a place in the program, which will be refunded along with the stipend upon completion of the program. 

Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 25 teachers who complete the registration process.
