Welcome back, students

January 31, 2022

Dear James Madison Community:

As we resume in-person classes this week, we understand the potential anxiety and spectrum of emotions this may bring. The transition will require patience, consideration and an understanding that we are all dealing with the adjustment differently. One of the many strengths of our College is the amazing support that we provide to one another during challenging times. As a community, we encourage you to support each other during this transition to in-person classes as well.

In addition, know that we are here for you as a source of support. MSU Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) offers a variety of mental health resources. JMC’s CAPS counselor and social worker is Courtney Brown. Her office is located in Wilson Hall.

Finally, prior to the beginning of classes, please take the time to review important announcements relating to the return to in-person classes.

What you need to know:

  • Booster verification process is now live using MSU’s vaccine verification form. Individuals also can request an exemption to the booster mandate using the verification form.
  • Booster clinics are being held, Jan. 26, and also on Jan. 31 and Feb. 17 at the Breslin Center.
  • KN95 masks will be available to employees and students with valid MSU ID.
