JMC Skills Seminar #1: Resume and Cover Letter Development

Need a refresher (or starting point) on drafting a resume or cover letter to help get you that opportunity you’ve got your eye on? Join James Madison College’s Career Services and Field Experience Offices for the first of three Skills Seminars: Resume and Cover Letter Development.

This interactive workshop will offer you the opportunity to gather best practices and lightly revise your own professional documents (so feel free to bring them along printed out or on your computer/tablet). Attendees can also use our time together to begin working on documents from scratch.

Students who complete all three seminars will receive coaching on how to list the professional development skills gained through the series on their professional documents and online profiles. Karissa Chabot-Purchase and Lauren Michalak are also working on a process to award LinkedIn badges for completing the series that they hope to roll out later this academic year.
