Tue, September 24, 2024 5:00 PM - Tue, September 24, 2024 6:30 PM at JMC Library 332 Case Hall
Climate change impacts are multifaceted, affecting environment, resources and resource user livelihoods in varying degrees. Climate anomalies affect recruitment, species composition, phenology, distribution and migration of fish resources. Resource constraints affect the fisher community with fishing cost escalation, reduced income, employment losses, displacement and migration/moving out of fisheries.
On Sept. 24 at 5 p.m., Dr. Shyam Salim, Principal Scientist at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, will share the experiences of the diverse climate resilience adaptation and mitigation strategies evolved over the years in India. Attend this event in James Madison College's Library (332 Case Hall).
This event is co-sponsored by MSU's Department of Fisheries & Wildlife, the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources and the Asian Studies Center.
