Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship Opportunities Overview

Run out of the U.S. Department of Education, Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships are academic scholarships that provide funding and support to graduate and undergraduate students who are pursuing language and area studies. MSU’s FLAS opportunities are designed to help meet critical needs for specialists in American education, government, and other services and reward $10,000+ for undergraduate students and up to $20,000 for graduate students. Our overview will offer participants the opportunity to: Connect with MSU’s FLAS contacts; review eligibility requirements and FLAS award benefits; and receive application advice.
