This talk will examine the thought of radical abolitionist Ottobah Cugoano (c. 1757 - 1791?) and its reverberations through the past two centuries. It will focus on the relevance of Cugoano’s thought for the twenty-first century including tracing the historical development of the communities of which he was a part.
