Nonbinary Design: Making Dating Apps Queer featuring Stephen O. Murray Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Matthew Andler

Mon, November 7, 2022 6:00 PM at Club Spartan (3rd Floor, Case Hall)

Join 2022 Stephen O. Murray Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Matthew Andler, Louise M. Olmsted Fellow for Ethics at Lafayette College, for his second public lecture "Nonbinary Design: Making Dating Apps Queer"

In this talk, I argue that prominent dating applications unjustly marginalize gender minorities, and I propose several concrete design solutions. Along the way, I enter into public conversations about the nature of technological development in order to explain why design is an apt target of normative critique.
