Ask Big Questions: How Do We Connect?

We usually define community as something we have in common: living in a common place, undergoing common experiences, sharing common language, values, or goals. How much common ground do we need in order to feel a sense of community? The story of what happened when a Muslim center opened across the street from a Christian church inspires us to think about community in new ways. Through the process of sharing space, they began to share their lives -- and found a sense of community they hadn’t imagined was possible.
