It is MANDATORY that all first-year JMC students attend all activities below!

All day First-year students move into Case Hall
2:00-6:00pm Club Spartan, 3rd Floor Case Hall
Welcome Reception for students and families and pick up t-shirts and name
tags. There will be snacks throughout the day, and JMC faculty, alumni, and staff to welcome you and your families. THIS IS CRUCIAL! All JMC first-year students need to pick up t-shirts and name tags at this time. You will need to wear the t-shirt & name tag for Monday and Tuesday’s activities. Your families do not need to attend but are welcome to. COME AS YOU ARE!

8:15am Meet promptly in the South Case Hall lobby to walk with the Madison group to the Breslin Center for the MSU Convocation. Madisonians will sit together in designated rows. WEAR YOUR JMC T-SHIRT AND NAME TAG!
9:00-11:00am MSU Convocation, MSU Breslin Center
Lunch On your own in Case Hall or other residence halls as desired
12:30pm JMC and MSU student organization fair, Wilson Auditorium Lobby
1:00pm JMC Colloquium, Wilson Auditorium - Be back promptly at 1:00!

2:00pm to 4:30 JMC LiveIt! Program, Wilson Auditorium
This workshop focuses on uniting students, not around one central belief or issue, but instead uniting them around concepts of respect and civility. LiveIt@JMC! aims to engage first-year students on social justice issues where opinions may differ as an opportunity to showcase and encourage civil discourse.

9:00am-12:00pm Impact of Policy in Practice, Wilson Auditorium, and dispersed in groups to Lansing area organizations for policy panels and discussion. Wear your JMC t-shirts, nametags, and be thoughtful of your attire. You will be visiting JMC alumni and organizations. Note: You will be leaving campus during this time!
Lunch On your own in Case Hall or other residence halls - Be back promptly at 1:00!
1:00-3:00pm Book discussion, Wilson Auditorium - Hillbilly Elegy
BRING YOUR BOOK! Be sure you have read the book!
Small groups will be dispersed with faculty to other rooms after an introduction
