Noah Wofsy (JMCD 1983) is Senior Counsel for the Office of the Legislative Counsel of the United States House of Representatives, the official, nonpartisan legislative drafting office for the Members, committees, and other offices of the House. He joined the Office after graduating from the University of Southern California Law School, and during his time with the Office has been responsible for drafting numerous Federal laws in areas including Medicare, campaign finance reform, election administration, and the governing status and structure of the District of Columbia, as well as a far greater number of bills that were never enacted into law (including President Clinton’s Health Security Act). He recently began his fourth year on the adjunct faculty of the George Washington University Law School, where he teaches a class on legislative analysis and drafting. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Board of Visitors of James Madison College, an organization of alumni and supporters of the College that advises the Dean on development and other matters, and in that capacity has been especially involved in efforts to support the Madison community in Washington. Beginning in 2007, Noah will serve as the Chair of the Board of Visitors.
