About the program
The "Central European Studies" program, sponsored by James Madison College at Michigan State University, is an academically challenging program located at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. Students will experience first-hand the political, social and economic transitions in the Czech Republic. They will also have the opportunity to participate in Czech culture and social life, as well as travel within the Czech Republic and surrounding countries.Classes Available
The program offers students the opportunity to take the following six courses in the Department of Politics and European Studies (DPES) at Palacký University:

| The Economic Transformation of Central Europe | 2 credits |

Students are required to enroll for all twelve (12) credits.
The six DPES courses will be grouped into equivalent James Madison College courses, for a total of three 4-credit courses. All courses will be taught in English by DPES faculty. Additionally, students have the option of a 2-hour (per week) non-credit course in Czech Language.
