Comparative Cultures and Politics

Related Areas

One of the features of the Comparative Cultures and Politics major is the opportunity to learn more about a specific world area or culture, thus building a firmer base of cultural expertise. In consultation with their advisers, CCP majors will select a region, country or culture on which to focus and complete a minimum of three courses (9 credits) to fulfill the related area requirement. We encourage you to take advantage of the rich array of area studies course offerings available at MSU in departments as diverse as languages and literatures, economics and sociology, among others.

You may find that your related area coursework leads you to pursue a specialization, a field of focus that will be officially indicated on your MSU transcript. There are several area studies specializations that are particularly relevant to CCP majors. Please click here to learn more about them.
